The change in system proved just the tonic, in our 7-1 victory against Durham on Sunday.

After our disappointing defeat against Arsenal, following our mid-season break, I was delighted with the manner of our performance and the game plan we worked on in training was perfectly executed.

While we relied on a 4-3-3 system, for most of last year's title success, the need to experiment with different formations was paramount - in order to give our side the added versatility when injuries kick in.

The most pleasing aspect of Sunday was that the goals were shared out amongst the team. Gemma Davison played in a more advanced role behind Natasha Dowie and I was pleased to see all her previous hard work on the training ground pay off - while bagging a brace that will give her great confidence. Katie Zelem look assured and proved that she can handle the step up to the top level and it provides us with different alternatives within the final third.

It is no secret that we have suffered with injuries all season and I'm pleased to report that we are finally nearing a fully fit squad, with Katrin, Becky and Libby now back in full training. It provides me with a welcome headache in team selection - given the options I now have available at my disposal.

While we face Doncaster Belles at the weekend in the cup, it is arguably the league match against Everton that is of greater significance - if we are going to retain our title. The Toffees have been a thorn in our side this season; however it is one game we can ill afford to lose in our quest for League success. Obviously it is a local derby that only adds to the importance and provides a great atmosphere - one that the Ladies relish playing in. Winning the derby would kick-start our league campaign again, give us local bragging rights and ultimately put pressure on the teams above us.

The bigger picture is we have to win the game because of the position we are in the league. We are looking forward to it, we will be prepared and I've got every confidence within this group that we can go on and have a successful second half of the season.

Thanks again for your continued support.
