Simon Mignolet remained on the bench as Belgium secured qualification for the last 16 of the World Cup after a dramatic late 1-0 win over Fabio Capello's Russia at the Maracana on Sunday.

After coming from behind to secure an opening 2-1 win over Algeria, hopes were high that Marc Wilmot's men would get another three points.

After being frustrated for long periods a moment of magic from Eden Hazard set up substitute Divock Origi and the replacement for Romelu Lukaku fired home in the 87th minute.

Russia were somewhat unfortunate. They should have been given a first half penalty and they had the best chance when Alexander Kokorin missed a sitter with a header from close range which in the end proved to be costly.

Belgium play their final Group H game on Thursday when they face South Korea.
