Brazil may have won the opening game of the World Cup on Thursday night but in an online poll conducted ahead of kick-off, Liverpool fans came out in support for the underdogs from Croatia.

More than 1,400 Reds supporters took part in the poll conducted on the club's global Twitter account, @LFC, with only 47 per cent of the retweets being in favour of Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho's home country.

Throughout the World Cup, we'll be asking Liverpool fans on Twitter who they'll be supporting in each game - which could be interesting when Steven Gerrard and England come up against Luis Suarez and Uruguay!
