As part of our ongoing tributes to Liverpool's treble campaign of 1983-84, voice of Anfield George Sephton has revealed his privilege to read out the names of Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen and co that season.

In 1984, Sephton was stationed in the Main Stand TV gantry; with neither social media nor an official website back then, George was the man supporters relied on for that all-important team news at 2.55pm.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was the best Liverpool team I've ever seen.

"We had so many fantastic players and characters in the team, the best centre-backs in the business ever, in my humble opinion, in Hansen and Mark Lawrenson.

"The whole atmosphere at Anfield and the club was incredible that year. This year we went so close to winning the title, but 30 years ago, that season we expected to win the league."
