The World Cup is the pinnacle for any footballer and representing your country in a tournament renowned as ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ represents the ultimate honour.

One such player relishing the tournament is Daniel Sturridge, who off the back of a fantastic season for Liverpool, scoring 24 goals in 33 appearances, was called up by Roy Hodgson for his 23 man squad for Brazil.

In the first part of  LFC TV's exclusive 'World Stars' series, the Reds striker looks ahead to the up and coming competition in South America and is hoping his superb club form is carried on into next month's tournament - where he is looking to add to his 3 international goals in 10 appearances for the three lions:

"Something everyone has dreamed of is to play in a World Cup in Brazil. I'm no different to that and, god-willing, I hope to keep my form going to help my team get victories." Sturridge said.

Ahead of the official launch of 'World Stars' tomorrow at 8pm on LFC TV, we are giving you a sneak preview of the series at 10am this morning on LFCTV GO, where you can see in depth what the competition means to the Liverpool striker.
