Liverpool maintained their challenge at the summit of the Barclays Premier League with three victories out of four during April – and now it's time to select your Standard Chartered Player of the Month from those games.

West Ham United, Manchester City and Norwich City were all successively downed as Brendan Rodgers' side clocked up 11 straight wins in the division and surged to top spot ahead of the run-in.

That record was halted in unfortunate fashion last Sunday as, despite the relentless efforts of the Reds across the 90 minutes, rivals Chelsea ground out a 2-0 triumph via a pair of counter-attacks at Anfield.

Before the team navigate their final two fixtures of the campaign, supporters can take a moment to nominate their top performer in April, with a quartet of contenders available to choose from.

Philippe Coutinho's evolution into an all-action warrior in Rodgers' midfield continued and the Brazilian produced perhaps the highlight of the month for Kopites when he struck a low beauty into the bottom corner for the winner against City.

The captain, Steven Gerrard, meanwhile, notably notched two crucial penalties to secure three points at West Ham, and rallied his charges throughout the month with his leadership from a deep-lying midfield position.

Raheem Sterling's displays throughout April, which included a sublime solo effort past City and a match-winning double at Norwich, prompted the manager to describe the 19-year-old as the best youngster in Europe.

And, as every month, Luis Suarez was in typically industrious form; the Uruguayan was a constant thorn in the side of defences and tapped home his 30th goal of the season during the early stages of the clash at Carrow Road.
