There was a surprise visitor at a Liverpool FC Soccer School on Tuesday as Liverpool's record goalscorer, Ian Rush, shared his football wisdom with 100 children at the club's Academy complex.

The kids in attendance at the half-term session received tips and tricks from the Welshman, who represented the Reds for 15 years across two separate spells and fired 346 goals.

Young footballers have travelled from around the world - including Dubai, Norway and the United States - to participate in the three-day programme, which offers a special insight into the sport.

Hosted at either the Academy in Kirkby or the home of the club, Anfield, an LFC Soccer School features coaching of the same principles and practices afforded to aspiring starlets on the books.

These courses are provided during every school holiday, thereby giving thousands of young people and Kopites the opportunity to discover the secrets of playing 'the Liverpool way'.
