As part of their ongoing activities within the local community, a trio of aspiring Liverpool Academy youngsters visited Alder Hey Children's Hospital on Wednesday.

Three members of Alex Inglethorpe's U21 squad, Marc Pelosi, Villyan Bijev and Jakub Sokolik, paid a visit to the hospital to spend some time with the children.

Players from the club's Kirkby complex make regular monthly trips to not only the hospital, but also visit patients at Claire House hospice and serve food at a homeless shelter in the city.

As a modern replacement for cleaning the boots of the Reds' first team, these activities ensure Academy talents are developed into outstanding players and, equally importantly, good human beings.

Alder Hey Children's Hospital is currently raising £30million for Alder Hey in the Park, to provide life-saving medical equipment, arts and play activities, and funding for vital research. Click here to make a donation>>
