Liverpool FC's official Facebook profile has today reached the landmark of 15million 'likes'.

Launched in May 2009, the page provides Liverpool supporters with the latest news, interviews, features, videos and photos from the club 365 days a year.

Fans from every corner of the globe can congregate in one place to comment on important LFC-related topics, discuss the team's recent performances and share official content with their friends.

On a Liverpool matchday, real-time updates, images and picture galleries can also be found on the Reds' Facebook page, providing followers with a genuine flavour of proceedings at Anfield.

Everything comes free and via a simple click, with thousands of Kopites hitting the 'Like' button on a weekly basis to receive all of the benefits mentioned above.

Earlier today, that total number passed 15million and maintained the Reds' position as one of the top four most-followed clubs in the Barclays Premier League.

Facebook also forms part of LFC's commitment to expand its digital media operations and ensure content is delivered in local language to supporters for whom English is not a first language.

Dedicated Facebook profiles are available to fans in Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Portugal, Spain, Thailand and Vietnam, to bring the club's followers closer than ever before to the team they love.
