Liverpool Ladies have today added star winger Gemma Davison to their Women's Super League-winning squad.

The 26-year-old switches from Arsenal Ladies, where she progressed from the Gunners' centre of excellence and became a regular member of the first team.

Davison also boasts experience of the Women's Professional Soccer League, based in the USA, where she represented New York Magic and Buffalo Flash among others before returning to England.

After her transfer was announced, Davison said: "I am excited to embrace a new challenge with Liverpool Ladies and I am delighted to be a part of the squad that will be defending the title.

"There are so many talented players here that I am looking forward to playing alongside."

Ladies manager, Matt Beard, believes Davison's arrival strengthens the options at his disposal as his team attempt to retain their title and navigate Champions League football.

He added: "Gemma is a fantastic signing for us; she is a strong, talented player who has a great deal of experience and knowledge of the game.

"Her addition will add strength to the team, which will be vital for us going into a challenging season and the Champions League."
