Kop idol Robbie Fowler recently paid a very special visit to Qatar to coach local students as part of a Liverpool FC Foundation programme.

The legendary goal machine joined two community coaches from the Liverpool FC Foundation, the club's official charity, as they delivered football coaching sessions to local Qatari students as part of the Foundation's international programme.

The programme uses the power of football to provide inspirational opportunities to a diverse range of individuals and community groups. Through the support of global partners, the programme delivers professional coaching clinics and educational workshops.

Fowler and the coaches visited local primary school, Ali Bin Abdullah School, where they delivered football sessions for 30 children. They also paid a visit to Park House English School, where students took part in the 'on the ball' football programme, which is supported by Standard Chartered.

As well as providing coaching sessions they also took part in Standard Chartered's 'Seeing is Believing' 3k Charity Race.

'Seeing is Believing' is the bank's global initiative, which aims to raise 100m USD to tackle avoidable blindness by 2020.

Forbes Duff, the Liverpool FC Foundation's international activity manager, said: "We are delighted to be in Doha with Standard Chartered to deliver some coaching sessions in the local Qatari schools and support their 'Seeing is Believing' race alongside Robbie.

"It has been a fantastic visit and we look forward to returning to Qatar again in the near future."

In 2014, the Liverpool FC Foundation's international programme plans to visit various countries, including Indonesia, Senegal, Holland, USA and Switzerland.
