Fulham fan Cathal Power provides the view from Craven Cottage ahead of today's Barclays Premier League clash at Anfield, including why Steven Gerrard is one of the players who scares him most.

Talk us through your start to the season...

To be honest, it's been a very poor start to the season. We made a couple of decent signings in the transfer window - the loan deal for Darren Bent, Scott Parker, Sascha Riether joining permanently after his loan spell - so I was feeling pretty optimistic at the beginning of the season. We got off to a great start with the win away to Sunderland, but it was pretty much downhill from there. Defeats to Newcastle and Cardiff were the real low points. However, we managed to bounce back well with a hard-fought win against Stoke City, which was then followed up by a rout of Crystal Palace which saw that sublime goal from Pajtim Kasami. But, of course, three games later, three defeats. It's been a season of low points so far, but I have faith in the squad and manager to turn this around - they just need to dig in and show a bit more effort.

Who has been Fulham's stand-out performer so far?

Well that's an easy one - Pajtim Kasami. The young lad didn't really have much of a chance to break into the first team during his first season or so with us, but always showed a good work-rate and decent composure when called upon. So far this season he's had it all: pace, strength, skill, and a wonder goal to boot.

Kasami's wonder goal - discuss...

Where do I start? Absolutely phenomenal. I've watched it numerous times now and it gets better each time! He actually started his run from the halfway line before taking it down fantastically on his chest to rifle it over Speroni from the right side of the penalty box with his weaker right foot - very special indeed. Let's not forget Riether's part in the goal, though; he had the vision to see Kasami make the run and was able to place it in his path perfectly. Phenomenal is the only way to describe that goal in short.

What is a realistic ambition for your team this year?

At the beginning of the season it was top 10, maybe even push for the Europa League. Right now, though, the higher end of the bottom half of the table looks more realistic. If we can get a couple of wins under our belts (starting this Saturday hopefully!) and maintain a bit of momentum then I'm sure we can push on up the table. We're in 16th with 10 points from 10 games, but if you look at it, three points here could push us within reach of the top 10. It's still congested down the bottom half of the league, so anything could happen. A top 10 finish would be great, but right now I'd take 12th again this season.

How will the Cottagers approach this one?

Generally we're a fairly attacking team, playing with three up front, but it could all change now with the way recent results have gone. Berbatov is a quality player, but he really doesn't work anywhere near hard enough when we don't have the ball, and the same goes for Bryan Ruiz. The Costa Rican is a gifted ball player with a wicked shot but he doesn't have the work-rate you need when you're in a position like ours right now. I can see Martin Jol going with a 4-4-1-1 formation again, with Parker and Sidwell manning the centre of the park, Kasami out wide and perhaps Kacaniklic on the other wing. Ruiz will most likely sit behind Berbatov or Bent then. Personally I'd rather see Bent given a shot, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Who worries you most in the Liverpool team?

SAS - Suarez and Sturridge, they're lethal together. Throw Couthino into the mix and you have a serious attacking trio. Granted, Suarez and Sturridge didn't quite click against Arsenal last week, but ever since Suarez came back from his ban, the two lads have been unplayable. They have the pace, they certainly have the skill, and Suarez has that bit of fight that terrorises the back four - they have zero time and space on the ball when he's in the mood. They're certainly your main threats, but you can't discount Stevie either, he's the main man in the centre and can come up with a cracker if the opportunity should present itself.

As an outside observer, how do you rate the Reds and their chances for success?

Pretty highly, I must say. I think the title is probably just out of your reach, but a spot in the top four is certainly something the club could push for. Brendan Rodgers is a manager I rate very highly and he's made some astute signings for you, with the likes of Coutinho, and more recently Sakho and Cissokho. You've had an excellent start to the season with 20 points from 10 games, so that's a great base to push on now until January and to try and maintain your momentum.

What's your prediction?

I'm going to say 1-1.
