Harry Wilson netted a sublime free-kick as Liverpool U18s drew 1-1 away at Middlesbrough on Tuesday afternoon.

The Welsh international was brought down and promptly curled home a superb opening goal.

Neil Critchley's side played some excellent football on the day and had some great chances to put the game beyond the hosts, but they conceded another late goal when Middlesbrough scored from a set-piece to level the scores in the 85th minute.

Critchley told Liverpoolfc.com: "I am disappointed for the lads that we didn't get the three points because we played so well and deserved to win.

"I felt we should have had a stonewall penalty in the second half that could have made it 2-0 but it wasn't given, and we also missed some great chances.

"It was frustrating to concede another late goal but we'll keep working and put that right."
