Reds legend Jamie Carragher believes new signing Victor Moses will add an extra dimension to Liverpool's attack - and has backed the Nigerian to be a valuable asset for Brendan Rodgers' side.

The forward arrived on a season-long loan from Chelsea last week and the former Reds vice-captain is a big admirer of the ex-Wigan star.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Carragher said: "I think Moses will be an important signing.

"Maybe that bit of pace and power on the counter attack, strength in the wide area will add a lot to the side."

Following his retirement, Kopites have still been able to watch Carra on their screens as he embarks on a new career in television punditry.

Monday's clash with Swansea City will be the first time Carragher will be covering a Liverpool match as a pundit - and it's something he is relishing.

He added: "They're top of the table at the moment and it'll be interesting to see if the new boys will be involved and if they can stay at the top of the table."
