Liverpool FC have today officially launched @LFCUSA - a new international Twitter account for fans in the United States of America.

The new account launches at a time when the English Premier League is enjoying a higher profile in America than ever before following the record-breaking NBC television deal that has opened the league up to tens of millions of new viewers.

@LFCUSA will focus primarily on matters involving the club's fans in North America and aims to create an online destination for supporters across the USA and Canada to debate the big talking points at a time that suits them.

Working closely with supporters' clubs, @LFCUSA will also act as an online bulletin board to inform supporters where fellow fans will be watching our games every week.

After the UK, more fans from the United States visit the official club website each month than from any other country in the world and the new @LFCUSA Twitter account aims to further enhance the bond that currently exists between the club and its American supporters.

The new @LFCUSA Twitter feed will be managed in America but will cover events involving the club's many fans in Canada. Supporters in Mexico, meanwhile, are encouraged to follow @LFCEspanol for daily updates.
