Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher are set to feature for the Liverpool first team one last time during Steven Gerrard's testimonial on Saturday.

Fowler played his final game for the club against Charlton back in 2007, while Carragher called time on his 17-year playing career in May.

However, both trained with Brendan Rodgers and the squad at Melwood on Friday after being asked to feature in what otherwise is a key pre-season friendly for the Reds against Olympiacos.

The game is live on LFCTV Online. Kick-off has been moved to 12.45pm BST and our coverage starts at 11.45pm.

Rodgers said: "I spoke with Carra and obviously he had spoken with Stevie at the end of the season.

"They are very close friends and they've gone through many battles on the field together, and obviously with Stevie out injured towards the end of the season they never got the chance to play together, so it will be a nice moment for them.

"Carra will feature at some stage, as will Robbie Fowler. I love Robbie, he's a great guy and he's good to have around.

"We're obviously looking to get him involved in the football club in terms of the coaching side which I think he's got a lot to offer.

"He never left the football club maybe the way he wanted to so it's a nice opportunity for him to play in front of the crowd again and give the Kop a real round of applause.

"So, two great legends of the football club I'll welcome with open arms. They trained this morning and Carra looks like he's never been away. Robbie looks like he has been away [laughs]!"
