Photos: Reds train in Mersey heat
With Merseyside currently in the midst of a heat wave, Liverpool continued their preparations for 2013-14 at Melwood on Thursday – and our photographer was on hand to get these snaps of the lads trying to cool off.
Temperatures may have again reached the mid-20s across the city, but there was no let up at the club's training complex as Brendan Rodgers and his backroom team put the squad through their paces ahead of the first pre-season friendly of the summer at Preston on Saturday.
And, as our photos show, Liverpool's players had different methods of cooling down after the session.
