100 Players Who Shook The Kop - the groundbreaking series that had every Liverpool fan talking back in 2006 – returned last month for a second edition.

More than 100,000 Liverpool fans voted in the original series seven years ago and the list became the definitive rundown of our greatest ever players.

Fans have until the end of February to have their say and select a top 10 before the 2013 list is revealed on Liverpoolfc.com and LFC TV day by day over the summer.

And over the coming weeks we'll be bringing you the choices of people who have worked at the club and those in the media who have followed the Reds closely down the years.

Next up to take his pick is Kop legend John Aldridge...

This is a very tough task. We have had some fantastic players play for this wonderful football club and deciding who to take out and who to put in the top 10 was very difficult. I knew my top five straight away, but the rest of the list needed some thought. Anyway, here we go...

10= Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush

They were two born-and-bred goalscorers and I simply can't seperate Rushie and Robbie. What those two did for this club was brilliant and the goals they scored were phenomenal.

9. Jamie Carragher

Carra is just the ultimate professional and it is fitting that he and Cally [Ian Callaghan] are the two highest appearance holders for Liverpool. He epitomises what Liverpool Football Club is all about and will be sorely missed when he retires at the end of the season. The sight of Carra making last-ditch tackles in Istanbul despite suffering from cramp was an indication of the measure of the man.

8. Ian Callaghan

Like Carra, Cally is what LFC is about - he was the ultimate professional and Jamie Carragher took on his mantle. He provided some wonderful assists for the likes of Roger Hunt and Ian St John and is one of the all-time greats. I used to love watching Cally running down the wing.

7. Emlyn Hughes

Emlyn was just inspirational. I used to love seeing him lead the team out onto the field as he would sprint on and get straight on with the task of helping Liverpool win the game. He had an incredible will to win and a wonderful enthusiasm.

6. John Barnes

Quite simply the best player I ever played with. John was something else, a latter day Ronaldo if you like...but better. He could do everything and he provided the crosses for many of my goals in a red shirt.

5. Kevin Keegan

I loved Kevin and he was my hero after Roger Hunt - Roger got me through my younger years and Kevin got me through my teens. He was a fantastic player for Liverpool.

4. Graeme Souness

He was just a general. He would grab the game by the scruff of the neck and drive Liverpool on to victory.

3. Roger Hunt

'Sir Roger' is my all-time LFC hero. He is the reason why I wore the No.8 shirt for Liverpool. I adored him, he scored some amazing goals in front of the Kop and he was just magnificent to watch.

2. Kenny Dalglish

What Kenny has done for this club both as a player and manager has been magnificent. He was just a top-drawer player.

1. Steven Gerrard

I admire Stevie so much and in my opinion he very slightly edges Kenny as Liverpool's best ever player. Kenny was a magnificent player and inspired others but he played in some fantastic Liverpool teams. Stevie has so often carried the team himself - along with Carra. Some of the goals and inspirational moments have given all of us a lot of joy over the years.
