Having already drawn Liverpool level with an earlier spot-kick, Kuyt held his nerve to fire home his second of the match in stoppage-time - thus sealing his place in Merseyside derby folklore.

A goal behind and looking rattled, Liverpool needed a moment of inspiration to get back on terms at the Emirates.
Cue a moment of magic from Steven Gerrard, whopowered to the left-hand byline before firing the ball across the face of goal for Kuyt to turn it across the line on the slide.
6) Inter Milan (H) W2-0,CL last 16, first-leg, February 2008
Kuyt put Liverpool on their way to another famous European victory at Anfield with the opening goal against Inter Milan.
Jermaine Pennant's cross from the right found the Dutch international at the back post, who took a touch on his chest before drilling a volley towards goal that crossed the line via the aid of the deflection.
7)Wigan Athletic (H) W3-2, PL, October 2008
The Dutchman scored his second late winner in as many games with a scissor-kick from Jermaine Pennant's cross that bounced into the ground and looped over the grasp of Kirkland.
It was the first time Kuyt had scored in three consecutive games since arriving on Merseyside and earned three precious points that would give further credence to Liverpool's title challenge.

A rare solo goal to add to his collection of headers, long range drives and clinical finishes.
The Dutchman took possession of the ball midway in the West Brom half before charging forward and drilling a powerful strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

A Fernando Torres-less Liverpool took on top four rivals Tottenham looking for someone to take on the Spaniard's mantle as chief goal-getter.
Up stepped, one Dirk Kuyt.
With just six minutes on the clock, the striker collected Alberto Aquilani's chested lay off and fired a strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

A Merseyside derby against a rapidly improving Everton side was always going to prove a testing occasion for Liverpool, but when Sotirios Kyrgiakos was sent off on 34 minutes it looked like an uphill task.
Cue a now trademark big game strike from Kuyt, who headed home Steven Gerrard's second-half corner to not only net the winner, but also his 50th for the club.
