Ragnar Klavan pays special visit to local school
Ragnar Klavan went back to school this week, with the Liverpool defender spending time with some local youngsters.
Klavan called in to St Paul’s Junior School in West Derby - close to the Reds' Melwood training ground - to meet pupils, sign autographs and talk about the importance of education.
Over 100 year six children across four classes listened to Ragnar’s story, finding out about his time at school and his journey to becoming a professional footballer. Liverpool's No.17 then took part in a Q&A with the pupils.
The visit was part of a Red Neighbours initiative for players to spend more time in the local community, giving children the chance to meet their heroes face to face.
Klavan said: “It’s been great to come down to the school and meet all the children.
“I really enjoyed school when I was young and it’s important to encourage the kids to stay in education and learn as much as they can. Training your brain is just as important as training your body.
“It’s brilliant to get out into the community and give something back to the fans.”
