Jon Flanagan called in to St Andrew’s Community Network in North Liverpool on Friday to make a donation to their foodbank collection.

The defender dropped off a selection of non-perishable items, which will be made into emergency three-day food parcels for local residents in need.

Food poverty and food education is one of the key focus areas of LFC’s Red Neighbours programme, working alongside the Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative to tackle local food poverty.

Flanagan was joined at the centre by Everton Ladies head coach Andy Spence and players Marthe Munsterman and Siri Worm, who also made donations on behalf of the Blues.

Ahead of the Merseyside Derby at Anfield this weekend, the club is encouraging fans to donate what they can for those in need.

Supporters attending the game can drop off any non-perishable food donations and toiletries at the foodbank collection points, which are open three hours before kick-off and located on Anfield Road, next to the club’s Family Park, and inside the new LFC Anfield superstore.
