- When complete the Main Stand will become one of the largest all seater single stands in Europe
- It will take around 4,800 tonnes of steel to build the expanded Main Stand, that’s almost twice the amount needed to build the Blackpool tower
- Main Stand capacity will be approx. 20,500 that’s almost half of Anfield’s full capacity now
- If you lined up every seat in the Main Stand it would stretch further than the distance from Anfield to the City Centre and back
- The upper tier will eventually hold 7,500 passionate Reds on a matchday
- Carillion will build the Main Stand’s new roof. They have already started lifting the new roof rafters into place. The pieces are huge and each weigh 70 tonnes
- The best thing about the roof is that it’s been designed to transfer all of the noise the fans make onto the pitch, which means the special atmosphere will be protected
- The Carillion team are fitting L4’s famous bricks to the new podium level at the front of the Main Stand. The bricks will give the Main Stand that “Anfield feel”
