Liverpool FC is excited to announce that a select group of players from North America will travel to the UK this summer to form special representative teams.

A total of 72 players from LFC International Academies across the USA have been invited to the UK where they will enjoy a seven-day LFC training camp at the club’s flagship residential venue. The trip will also include matches against UK-based teams, as well as a memorable trip to Anfield.

LFC coaching staff have been working for several months to identify the players who would be offered this special opportunity. Following a thorough identification process, 36 boys and 36 girls across two age groups were selected from LFC International Academies around the USA. Players were selected based not only on ability, but also on their attitude, dedication and ability to demonstrate the LFC core values throughout their time with LFC International Academy.

Dan White, Head of LFC International Academies, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming these young players this summer and trust that they will represent LFC and all of our International Academies in the US with great pride.

“For them to visit England as part of a representative team is a very special opportunity, an achievement they should be very proud of.

“They’ll enjoy a great week of training, have a taste of action with some matches and of course they will be able to visit Anfield, which is an awe-inspiring moment for any youngster. The trip will create memories to last a lifetime.”

Players will shortly be notified if they have been selected to represent their International Academy in the UK this summer, and a further announcement from LFC will be shared with final rosters.

LFC International Academies offer a range of programs, from camps to elite teams, across the following states in America: California, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Michigan.
