William Cunningham played just three times for Liverpool's first-team, twice in the 1920-21 season and once the following year.
He made his debut in the First Division fixture with Middlesbrough at Anfield on 12th March 1920 and then figured in the penultimate game of the season - away to Arsenal on May, 2. Both games finished in goalless draws. His only other appearance for the Reds was in a home match with Bolton Wanderers on March 18, 1922, which Liverpool lost 2-0.
