Patrice Luzi was a goalkeeper who had only made one appearance in the French Second Division for Ajaccio before being signed by Gerard Houllier.
He only made one appearance for Liverpool when he came on for the injured Dudek in the 1-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on January, 7, 2004. He was all set for a full debut at Anfield against Southampton, but Houllier felt he wasn't experienced enough and signed Paul Jones on emergency loan instead.
After falling down the pecking order he only played the odd reserve match in the 2004-2005 season. He left on free transfer in June 2005.
