Scott was selected to play in Liverpool's forward line on the opening day of the 1929-30 First Division season but it was not a happy debut for him as the team was crushed 5-0 at Middlesbrough.
That was his only appearance of that season and he had to wait until December 27, 1930 to be picked again. This time he had a happier afternoon as Liverpool took a point from a 3-3 draw at Blackburn Rovers and Scott scored one of the goals.
He was also on target in his only other league appearance for the club, against Manchester United on Easter Monday 1931.
Apart from the three league matches he figured in, Scott also represented Liverpool once in the FA Cup, in a third round defeat at Birmingham on January 10, 1931.
