Minute by minute

Post And that’s all from our coverage for today. Thanks for following and we’ll be back next Saturday, when the Reds welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield. YNWA.
Post Check the homepage now for Brendan Rodgers' post-match press conference in full.
Post BR: “I was delighted with the result. We had a really good performance but didn’t get anything during the week at Old Trafford. So to come away, get the result and perform, in parts of the game, like we did was very pleasing. We always had to be alert; we defended very well and on the counter-attack looked very threatening. It was a very good victory for us.”
Post Discussing Sturridge and Suarez at his post-match press conference, Brendan Rodgers said: “I’m not sure there’s two better in the league, in all honesty. There are some wonderful partnerships around. We’ve changed the structure of our team a bit to allow us to pass it better – we’ve still got a lot of work to do – but also to fit in with the type of players that we have. Those two are right up there with the best in the country.”
Post Sturridge: "It's great to have Luis back. It gives us options and he's one of the best forwards in the league. We form a good partnership."
Post Sturridge: "Luis [Suarez] gives me angles to play in and for me it's about getting assists as well as scoring and the team winning games. If someone's in a better position, you put them in and allow them to score the goal."
Post Daniel Sturridge: "It was a tough game. I don't we played as well as we could have in the first half, but we went in 2-0 up. It was very difficult in the second half. I think we took our foot off the pedal a little bit and once they scored the goal, it got a little bit difficult for us. But in the end we defended well and got a late goal which killed it off."
Post We're now running our MOTM vote on Twitter. Head over to @LFC now to have your say

Post Liverpool had 15 efforts at goal today compared to Sunderland's 23; however, six of the Reds' were on target. Just five of the hosts' were on target

93 FULL-TIME
90 Three minutes added on.
89 A blistering counter-attack from the Reds concludes with Sturridge setting up Suarez for another straightforward finish at the back post. Game over.
89 GOAL! Luis Suarez:
88 Gerrard heads away a Sunderland centre at the expense of a corner…which Mignolet takes easily.
84 @JamesPearceEcho: Lucas Leiva now banned for visit of Palace next Saturday after 5th yellow card. #LFC
84 Substitution: Charis Mavrias for Sebastian Larsson:
82 First Booking: Lucas Leiva:
80 10 minutes left on the clock.
79 First Booking: Jack Colback:
78 Buccaneering play by Kolo Toure, who carries the ball forward and unleashes an accurate blast towards the top right corner – Westwood palms away.
74 @neiljonesecho: Sterling looks like he's gone to right wing back, with Henderson moving centrally.
73 Substitution: Raheem Sterling for Victor Moses:
73 Substitution: Ondrej Celustka for Lee Cattermole:
72 Swinging delivery from the left by Enrique is travelling towards Suarez and the Uruguayan makes contact in front of goal but it’s not enough to worry Westwood.
68 Brendan Rodgers’ team have grabbed possession back, slowly but surely – 55 per cent for the visitors at the moment.
67 Now the Nigerian international whips a delightful cross into the six-yard box, somehow eluding a bunch of his teammates gathered at the far post. The Reds are back on the front foot here.
66 Great hit by Moses forces an excellent reflex save from Westwood – it took a deflection and was dipping. Unlucky for the No.12.
63 Jose Enrique and Mamadou Sakho endure crossed wires regarding a loose ball, allowing Altidore to collect – the striker wastes no time in blasting towards Mignolet but it’s nowhere near the target this time.
61 Suarez and Sturridge combine in impressive fashion, although when the latter tries to clip through the former into space, the No.7 is blocked out.
59 First Booking: Emanuele Giaccherini:
56 Lots of noise throughout the previously quiet crowd now; the home side are pushing for a rapid equaliser.
54 Gardner lines up a piledriver from the angle and the ball travels through a packed penalty area – Mignolet sees it late but gets down quickly to his right to punch out.
52 After Johnson had smashed a strike wide, Ki’s long-range effort is parried away by Mignolet and into the path of the hard-working Giaccherini – who side-foots powerfully into the net.
52 GOAL! Emanuele Giaccherini:
48 Now Suarez attempts an ambitious outside-of-the-boot lob – takes a nick and goes out for a corner. From the set-piece, the No.7 volleys wide.
47 Henderson has possession once more and drives towards the Sunderland penalty box; the delivery takes a deflection and Suarez is lurking dangerously but the ball evades him.
46 SECOND HALF
45 The two sides are back out.
45 Check the homepage now for live photos from the Stadium of Light.
45 Both Jordan Henderson and Lucas Leiva left the field at half-time with better than 90 per cent passing accuracy – with the latter achieving 95.5 per cent.
45 Sunderland have hit 14 shots during the opening 45 minutes, but only one effort has registered on target. The Reds have recorded a far more efficient three shots on target from five attempts.
45 @ged0407: Daniel Sturridge has scored 8 goals in his last 4 and a half away league games. #LFC
45 @Zonal_Marking: Sunderland are a little unfortunate to be 2-0 down. What a marvellous second goal, though - Gerrard's ball and Sturridge's take was lovely
45 That’s the end of the first half and Liverpool go into the break with a comfortable lead thanks to strike pair Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez.
45 HALF-TIME
45 Two minutes added on.
44 Superb save from Mignolet to keep it 2-0! The Belgian sticks out a leg to deny Gardner from extremely close range. Johnson then curls another effort just over.
40 @DominicKing_DM: Spotlight has been on Steven Gerrard's performances of late but his quality must never be in doubt. He has been dictating tempo of this game
38 That was an excellent team goal and the No.7 lifted his shirt to pay tribute to his new child during the subsequent celebrations.
36 But the Reds have quickly doubled their lead; Sturridge drives down the right flank in acres of space and smartly picks out Suarez at the back post for the simplest of tap-ins.
36 GOAL! Luis Suarez:
35 Ki then smashes a low, skidding attempt wide of the left post.
33 Decent response from the home side since the Liverpool goal, earning a succession of corners but not yet actually troubling Simon Mignolet between the posts.
28 @OptaJoe: 8 - Eight of Liverpool’s last 10 Premier League goals have been scored by Daniel Sturridge.
27 The Reds lead at the Stadium of Light and it’s top scorer Daniel Sturridge with the goal, forcing the ball over the line from close range from a Steven Gerrard corner.
27 GOAL! Daniel Sturridge:
26 Back come Liverpool: Henderson travels down the right flank and Sunderland struggle to completely clear his cross. Moses is waiting to collect the ball and smashes a volley which carries high over Westwood’s net.
23 Larsson sends a fabulous free-kick spinning towards the top left corner and the Swede seems certain to have broken the deadlock, only for the ball to bounce clear off the top of the crossbar.
22 Now Lucas Leiva is penalised for a challenge on Giaccherini and Sunderland have a set-piece.
20 Emanuele Giaccherini is working the channels cleverly for Sunderland and the Italian works freedom for Ki Sung Yueng to strike goalwards – wide.
19 The Black Cats have dominated possession during the opening 20 minutes – they have had almost 60 per cent of the ball.
16 The Uruguayan has rejoined the action, thankfully.
15 Suarez is down and signalling to the sidelines after slipping awkwardly to the ground as he tried to dribble past Craig Gardner.
13 Terrific pressure by Sebastian Larsson reclaims possession from Liverpool and when the midfielder passes into Altidore, the American only has eyes for goal. Skrtel is in the way, though, and blocks.
10 Now Jozy Altidore sets up Adam Johnson with a neat pass and the wide-man aims for goal in typical fashion; the Englishman’s effort is directed wide of the near post, however.
9 Gerrard smashes a low curler towards the bottom left corner – the strike is parried away by Keiren Westwood. There is Martin Skrtel for the rebound and a simple finish but the linesman flags offside against the defender.
8 Daniel Sturridge is felled on the edge of the penalty area and the Reds have a free-kick in an inviting position…
5 Bright start from the home side.
4 Suarez then glides through a series of tackles and clips a right-footed effort narrowly high and wide of the upright.
3 A smart counter-attack from the visitors starts with Victor Moses and concludes with Luis Suarez feeding Steven Gerrard on the right; the captain drives a low centre towards the middle but Sunderland concede a corner.
1 Early cross into the box from Sunderland drifts out of play and Liverpool can build from the right. The Reds are again operating with three central defenders here.
