Minute by minute

Post And that’s all from our coverage today – we hope you enjoyed it and thank-you for following. We’ll be back next Saturday, when the Reds welcome West Bromwich Albion to Anfield.
Post Check the homepage shortly for a full report from the manager’s post-match press conference.
Post Brendan Rodgers has explained why Jose Enrique was absent from the squad today: "Jose was injured. He's had a problem all season with his knee and he's struggled. But he was suffering with it and we just felt it was best for him to come out and make it right.”
Post “If we had got the win today, it would have been the perfect week. The week has gone really well from an international point of view, and getting the goal today was fantastic. But I always search for perfection so I’m sadly a little bit down that we haven’t taken maximum points.”
Post Steven Gerrard told post-match: "We did everything we could to win the game. Unfortunately we have been caught out with a set-piece. From the sending-off we were brilliant. We played some really good stuff but, frustratingly for us, it wasn’t enough.”
Post There was a good result for Liverpool’s U18s today – Harry Wilson scored twice in a 4-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
Post “I think we deserved more than a draw, but always is good in away matches,” tweets Luis Alberto.
Post @ged0407: @D_Sturridge is the first @LFC player to score in 6 successive away league games for 23 years - since John Barnes in September 1990.
Post @NeilMellor33: Superb achievement for Gerrard to reach 100 league goals today.A truly world class player who has scored some amazing goals in that 100#LFC
Post Steven Gerrard: "It was nice to score today, it's nice to get goals but for me I'm disappointed not to get the three points."
Post A look through the statistics shows how dominant Brendan Rodgers’ team were for long spells against the Magpies; Liverpool enjoyed 62.3 per cent of possession, launched 23 shots at goal and had 13 corners.
Post The draw takes Liverpool back to the top of the Barclays Premier League, at least temporarily. Arsenal can reclaim first if they avoid defeat at home to Norwich this afternoon.
Post And head over to Twitter to cast your vote in our Man of the Match poll - choose from Steven Gerrard, Martin Skrtel and Luis Suarez.

95 Suarez curls it towards the far corner - saved well by Krul. And that's it.
94 Final chance... free-kick for the Reds in dangerous territory.
92 The Reds work the ball to Alberto at the right corner of Newcastle’s penalty box and the Spaniard attempts a drive – over.
89 Sturridge races through clear on the right wing but takes a heavy touch and is forced to cross, which Newcastle handle at the expense of a corner.
87 Fantastic challenge from Aly Cissokho, the only defender remaining as Remy launched a Newcastle counter-attack. The Reds are really committing players forward here in search of a winner.
85 First Booking: Mathieu Debuchy:
85 Gerrard picks out Sturridge with an accurate assist from the right flank but the striker sends his first-time effort wide of the far post. Around five minutes left on the clock.
82 First Booking: Daniel Sturridge:
81 A Luis Alberto corner falls to Jordan Henderson, who tries a difficult volley and see his shot fly off target.
80 Substitution: Raheem Sterling for Glen Johnson:
76 Substitution: Vurnon Anita for Yohan Cabaye:
75 Substitution: Sammy Ameobi. for Hatem Ben Arfa:
72 Suarez smashes an effort against the crossbar now with a sensational volley from the edge of the box. Very unlucky for the No.7.
71 The Reds are level once more, with Suarez producing a sublime cross from the left for Sturridge to force a goal with a header into an open net. 2-2!
71 GOAL! Daniel Sturridge:
70 First Booking: Kolo Toure:
69 Cheick Tiote reclaims the ball from Moses and has freedom to move forward – the midfielder’s drilled strike travels well wide of Mignolet’s goal, though.
66 First Booking: Yoan Gouffran:
66 A superb, curling cross from the corner of the box by Gerrard requires an unorthodox clearance by Debuchy.
64 The Reds are coming close to 60 per cent possession here but the Magpies are doing well to prevent the visitors from creating any clear-cut opportunities.
61 Substitution: Luis Alberto for Mamadou Sakho:
59 Brendan Rodgers is preparing some changes in response.
57 The Newcastle substitute ghosted in at the far post from a deep free-kick to smartly guide a finish beyond Mignolet for 2-1.
57 GOAL! Paul Dummett:
56 Shooting chance for Victor Moses following a lengthy passage of passing among the Liverpool forwards – his blast is high and wide, however.
52 Outstanding saving tackle by Skrtel in the Liverpool area to prevent Remy from going through one-on-one.
48 More proof of Johnson’s attacking exploits there, supporting on the right and smashing a low, left-footed strike at the near post which needs to be punched away by Krul.
45 Definitely worth checking the average position graphic courtesy of Opta below, which shows just how high up the pitch Glen Johnson is playing.
45 Check the homepage now for live photos from St James' Park.
45 The outlook of this match has completely changed on that one moment. The Reds should now have the upper hand after bringing themselves level and the home side suffering a red card.
45 First Booking: Steven Gerrard:
45 Substitution: Paul Dummett for Moussa Sissoko:
41 Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa concedes a professional foul on Suarez and Gerrard calmly steps up to convert the penalty for his 100th goal in the Barclays Premier League. Advantage to Liverpool now.
41 GOAL! Steven Gerrard:
41 Steven Gerrard for his 100th PL goal...
40 Sending Off: Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa:
40 Penalty to Liverpool!
37 Now it’s Moussa Sissoko’s turn to hammer a shot at the Liverpool goal and Mignolet has to react instantly to beat the attempt away. Important stop by the Belgian.
35 Cabaye is clearly in the mood for goals here – the Frenchman takes a touch and blasts a swerving effort towards Mignolet’s top left corner which, thankfully, drifts just wide.
32 Gerrard delivers Liverpool’s eighth corner of the first half to Kolo Toure in the area but the Ivorian defender cannot make a clean connection.
30 Little genuine goalmouth action to report in the last five minutes but Liverpool do pose a threat going forward, with Johnson a regular outlet for teammates on the right.
25 Mamadou Sakho nearly draws Liverpool level – Suarez finds him in the centre of the penalty box when a corner falls at the back post, but the Frenchman directs his header too high.
23 Newcastle lead through a fantastic strike by Cabaye, who dribbled forward through midfield and unleashed a rocket of an effort from distance past Mignolet and into the bottom corner.
23 GOAL! Yohan Cabaye:
22 Should be 1-0 to the Reds; yet another corner finds Gerrard, who nods back across the area for a completely free Martin Skrtel. But the Slovakian can only send his attempt over. Good chance.
20 Another LFC corner, but this time a connection – Suarez leaps highest to nod a header at goal but Davide Santon is well placed to head away from danger. It may have been heading wide, in any case.
18 Remy launches a highly ambitious strike from fully 40 yards – well wide.
16 At the other end, Yohan Cabaye whips in a dangerous corner and this time Gerrard is the man to clear with a strong header. The game has yet to settle into a rhythm.
12 Victor Moses has just showed some fantastic control under pressure and dealing with a bouncing pass, before sliding through Daniel Sturridge in the right channel. Brimming with confidence, the No.15 directs a daisy-cutter goalwards – comfortable for Tim Krul.
8 The Reds win a corner on the left but Gerrard’s powerful, swinging delivery is headed clear at the near post by Loic Remy.
6 Mathieu Debuchy carries the ball forward down Newcastle’s right flank and is afforded time and space to shoot from distance; the Frenchman’s low drive is too close to Simon Mignolet, however.
4 Excellent passing interchange between Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez releases the former, who is closed down quickly by the home defence as he attempts to cross. Suarez then narrowly fails to set up an onrushing Glen Johnson in the Magpies area.
2 It has been a scrappy opening so far, with neither team holding possession during the opening exchanges.

Pre He added: “The form of Loic Remy gets you excited that we could have a top player on our books, but then the form of Cisse makes you wonder if he will ever get back to how good he was when he first arrived. Those two players probably sum up our season so far. Inconsistency has been the key and until we sort that out we will be a run-of-the-mill team.”
Pre Discussing that result in providing us with the lowdown from the north east, Magpies fan Dan Robinson said: “We're in a better place mentally than we were then. And surely the players will be angry at how they let that happen so will want to prove it was a freak result. You'd hope...”
Pre The Reds have scored 80 goals against Newcastle in the Premier League - more than against any other team – and ran riot on this ground last season, returning to Merseyside on the back of a 6-0 triumph.
Pre Also on 99 is Steven Gerrard – the skipper has fired 99 Premier League goals for the club during his 15 years in the side. Could he reach a special landmark against Newcastle today?
Pre Did you know that Luis Suarez will reach a century of appearances for the Reds should he feature at St James’ Park? During his previous 99 games, the Uruguayan has found the back of the net 54 times.
Pre "But it shows you how much growth there is still left in the team, that we can win games 3-1 and I can come away a little bit dissatisfied because of the performance. What I can't argue with is the work of the players, the honesty of the players, how humble they are and how willing they are to come in to train every day to be better.”
Pre “That's always how I've been. But I can't take anything away from how we've been so far. In terms of results, we've been absolutely brilliant. This is the most competitive league in the world.
Pre "We'll get better as we grow together more. The Premier League is very difficult,” Rodgers said. "I go on about performance because I don't just like to get three points; I worry about playing well and playing in a certain way.
Pre That declaration followed news that Joe Allen, Aly Cissokho and Glen Johnson are all available after spending time on the sidelines. Midfielder Lucas Leiva returns from his one-match suspension too.
Pre Although it was confirmed yesterday that Iago Aspas has suffered a thigh injury, the manager told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Thursday that he has his ‘strongest squad of the season’.
Pre Should they avoid defeat, Brendan Rodgers’ side can reclaim top spot in the Barclays Premier League – temporarily at the very least – after entering the international break with two consecutive victories.
