Minute by minute

Post We'll be back on Boxing Day with live updates from the Etihad when the Reds take on Manchester City. Thanks for following, YNWA
Post That's it from our live coverage at Anfield on the day Liverpool went top of the Barclays Premier League and Luis Suarez took his tally for the season so far to 19 goals in just 12 appearances
Post Rodgers: "I said before now and I’ll repeat again – I think it's unprecedented for a club to go from seventh to first. But I think in this moment in time, as we're sat at the top of the table, it shows the great work that the players and the football club is aligned to. We've got to just keep this momentum going."
Post Rodgers on the upcoming trips to Manchester City and Chelsea: “We’re really looking forward to the games. At Manchester City last year, we should have won and ended up drawing the game. "Manchester City have a great squad of players; everyone looks at them as Manchester City's title to lose because of the squad they have. For us, it's just about taking each game at a time. We have been on a fantastic run, the quality of our football is at a really high level – we're pressing the game very well, our aggression to get the ball back is good. We'll arrive there on Boxing Day in a really good moment. It's a game I'm really looking forward to."
Post Rodgers on Suarez: "It shows you the team player that he is. I thought he showed great humility as well, when Daniel Agger came on the field, he brought the armband straight to him because he's the vice-captain. It shows you the humility of the man. Two brilliant goals, a genuine world-class player. The pivotal point of the team is really exciting and dynamic at the moment."
Post Asked for a superlative to sum up Suarez's performance today, Rodgers replied: "The one for today is unselfish. First of all, it is for the second goal, he's through on goal and you don't see too many strikers do that."
Post Brendan Rodgers: "It was an outstanding team performance. Some of the movement and fluidity in our game was excellent. We scored three and could have had more."
Post LFC had a passing accuracy of 87.4 per cent
Post The Reds had 68.8 per cent possession, making 637 passes
Post Seven of which were on target, resulting in three goals
Post Liverpool had 27 shots on goal today, compared to Cardiff's 10

45 HALF-TIME
45 GOAL! Luis Suarez:
42 Incredibly unselfish play from Suarez, who is sent clean through on goal by Henderson’s outside-of-the-foot pass. The Uruguayan elects to square for Sterling, however, who nets with a side-foot finish

Our attacking threat is blunt, with Fraizer Campbell - although a willing worker - struggling to make an impact at this level and Peter Odemwingie yet to impress. If Suarez chooses, as is likely, to target Ben Turner, it is very difficult to see him coping, especially with his ironically lacking turning ability.”
Pre We asked Cardiff City supporter Andrew Birch for the view from the opposition ahead of today’s game and he revealed where the Reds could hurt their visitors today…
Pre "For now we need to concentrate on the Cardiff game and try and ensure those three points. It's a game we really want to win and take all three points prior to taking on Chelsea and City."
Pre The 23-year-old said: "We need to concentrate on each game and pick up as many points as possible along the way. It would be great to beat Cardiff, but after that I always say that you look at the points tally at the end of the season.
