Firmino could make the 100th appearance of his Liverpool career tonight.

The Reds have suffered defeat in only two of their last 18 European games, while Jürgen Klopp has lost just two of his 16 matches in charge of the club in the Champions League and Europa League.

Liverpool have used 20 players in their three European games this season, with nine – Georginio Wijnaldum, Dejan Lovren, Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson, Alberto Moreno, Sadio Mane, Emre Can and Joel Matip – starting each of them.

Klopp's men have won all five games this season in which they have scored the first goal, but have drawn three and lost two of the five matches when the opposition have opened the scoring.

Their 10 fixtures this season have produced a total of 38 goals.

Last season, Spartak won the Russian title for the first time in 16 years, scoring 46 goals and conceding only 27 in their 30 games to finish seven points clear.

They last reached the group stage of the Champions League in 2012-13, when they finished bottom of a group consisting of Barcelona, Celtic and Benfica.

Quincy Promes, an injury doubt for this tie, has been the top scorer in Spartak's last two league campaigns and is leading the way this season with nine in all competitions.

Massimo Carrera's side have scored in all but two of their 14 matches so far this term.
