The No.10 was a driving force behind the Reds’ thrilling victory at the King Power Stadium, as he set up Mohamed Salah’s opening goal with a fine cross and then curled home a typically brilliant free-kick from 25 yards.
Having missed Liverpool’s first six games of the campaign due to a back injury, Coutinho returned as a substitute in the 2-2 Champions League draw with Sevilla and has started each of their last three matches.
Klopp feels that the 25-year-old is reaping the benefits of making three starts in the space of a week, and the manager was understandably delighted with his crucial 79-minute contribution versus the Foxes.
“Actually it’s really good to see. We have to not worry but think about his physical situation because we know how the three or four weeks were, but since he’s in he’s [been] in really good shape,” the boss told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I said it of the first few training days [that] he was really outstanding. OK, then in the first game [it’s about] finding the rhythm and all that stuff, it was not that brilliant like how he usually can be, but now he’s really back and that helps us a lot.
“In the moment we’ve been playing without Sadio [and] he can play in the different positions.”
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was bright after replacing Coutinho at the King Power on Saturday, with James Milner and Daniel Sturridge also making a positive impact after being brought off the bench.
And Klopp was keen to praise the attitude and application shown by all members of his squad, with Liverpool now facing another busy week that features trips to Spartak Moscow and Newcastle United.
“They all help us. I love the impact of Millie, I love his impact in the dressing room and all that stuff, he’s so close. I know he’s a player that wants to play all the time, it’s really hard for him [and] it’s the same with Daniel, the same with Ox, same with all of the boys,” he continued.
“They are all ready and that’s good because we need them, so that’s why I think that for all the good things in the dressing room you need obvious signs outside and that’s results in football.
“Today, we could show that we are still here. Now we have 11 points and plus one goal so that’s a start and let’s carry on.”
