LFC champions Safer Internet Day 2018

Liverpool Football Club will once again be supporting Safer Internet Day.

Safer Internet Day 2018 will be celebrated globally on Tuesday February 6, with the slogan 'Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you'.

The club will host three educational events at Anfield - one specifically designed for local parents, staff and teachers and two for 850 school children from 60 local schools.

Tutors from the UK Safer Internet Centre will deliver the online safety education sessions, which will promote the responsible, safe and positive use of digital technology, demonstrate how to spot both positive and negative behaviour online and what strategies can be used to resolve online conflicts in a healthy and positive way.

There will also be a range of carousel themes to explore, which will be delivered by the club, SID tutors and other external organisations including 'how to change the world in 10 seconds' and 'safe gaming'.

All teachers in attendance will receive educational packs to take back to their schools to further communicate the key learnings.

Will Gardner, director of the UK Safer Internet Centre, said: "Safer Internet Day is a unique opportunity for everyone across the UK to come together to build a better internet. To help empower children and young people to have a safe and positive time online.

"Working together with LFC will help us make such a positive impact and allow us to reach even more children and young people on Safer Internet Day."
