Last season head-to-head: In September 2016, the Blues won 4-1 in Kirkby with Yan Dhanda on the mark for the Reds.

However, in January the Reds gained their revenge with a 2-1 win. Okera Simmonds scored his first goal at U18 level before Dhanda fired a brilliant winner.

View from the manager, Steven Gerrard

"Everton are a tough side and I’m sure they will set up to try and stop us playing, which is what they do at first-team level. I’m sure they will be very concerned about us as an attacking threat and they will try and spoil our play and cause us problems. Friday night is all about defending well from us. If we can defend well then I’m very confident we can get the right result. The lads are excited and they understand this is a big game. They know there will be extra people coming down and they know LFCTV are showing it live, they know Jürgen Klopp and the first team will probably look in as well, so the stage is set for them and it’s a wonderful opportunity for them to shine."

View from the player, Anthony Glennon

"This fixture means a lot, especially for us local lads. Steven has made sure we have been focused solely on Everton this week and we are ready to go and can't wait to get out on the pitch. We have played some really good football as a team this season but we've been sloppy defensively and we have been conceding silly goals and we want to put that right on Friday night. We've got the attacking threat we need to score goals, we just need to sharpen up at the back."
