A unique charity football match will take place at Anfield on March 29; it will include an all-star line-up of Europe's elite players, with teams made up like never before.
At one end we will have a team captained by Steven Gerrard, playing against this team will be 11 players headed up by Jamie Carragher. The all-star line-up of players confirmed so far include Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Pepe Reina, Dirk Kuyt, John Terry, Xabi Alonso, Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba – to name but a few. Current LFC first-team players who are not on international duty will also play a part as well as some of the LFC Academy's brightest stars.
The event, which has been organised by LFC's official charity, will help to fund the Liverpool FC Foundation's community programmes, which benefit thousands of young people and adults throughout the city of Liverpool. Funds will also be used for Alder Hey's new Hospital in the Park, as well as providing support packages to Claire House, Positive Futures, Centre 56 and Cash for Kids.
